Defender 110 200 Tdi - seem to be getting all the teething problems out of the way at the moment for a vechicle that hasn't been driven regularly for a few years

Basically, driving home last night ('bout a 30 min drive) and initially there was about an inch of play at the top of the travel of the clutch pedal that wasn't there before. This dead spot grew and grew until I arrived home there was only about an inch of useful movement. Fortunately I could still change gear.

Looked at the master and slave cylinders and as much of the pipework inbetween as I could see and there's no evidence of leakage - anyone got a best guess as to what the symptoms point towards and what bits could do with replacing?

Cheers

master cylinder full ? leak from master will show down the pedal ,slave will leak inside bellhousing ,if vehicles been stood a while cylinders may well have corrosion thats worn the seals ,id be temted to buy both master and slave one wont be far behind the other

Master cylinder needed a top up, did that and bled it - all seems good again. Just going to keep a close eye on the fluid level - like I said, there is not even a hint of a leak looking at anything.
