For what it's worth, last time I changed the timing belt on my 200 Tdi I had an AllMakes and a BritPart tensioner both fresh out of the box - comparing the two, the AM one was noticeably smoother, felt better lubricated and had less play in the bearing. Binned the BP one. For the sake of such a...

Just one steering UJ and one bush that had to be replaced... the rest are getting a bit on the worn side though, probably replace them all at some point in the coming year. Not bad :)

My brother gave the ole Moose a bit of a clean to get the salt off and general checkup! Probably old news to most on here but a rag with a bit of WD40 skooshed on brings the plastic grille/headlight surrounds up nicely.

Any clutch should be lasting longer than that, especially with only light duty use - worth taking a look at the whole installation to see if there's anything there that's killing it or else you might be posting up the same thread this time next year :)

It's on the Isle of Lewis in the outer Hebrides. Couldn't believe how cold it was, there were puddles on the track that weren't even breaking under the weight! Generally it doesn't get too cold up here because of the sea.

Took the Moose for a bit of a tour to some half frozen loch yesterday, newly fixed heater and radio made it all the better! :)

If you do a Google search there is a fairly detailed account of someone doing this. All I can say is it looked absolutely hellish - not because of mechanically fitting the engine in but from the angle of wiring a TD5 up to a vehicle that wasn't designed for it.

Had a look for a similar thread but surprisingly couldn't find one? Anyhoo, I picked up a nice piece of driftwood for the fire.

Got my heater going today and it's brilliant! Gets the cab as hot as you like.

Fitted a radio and speakers and got the heater working thanks to Daz on here! Now nice and toasty inside with a choice of rubbish to listen to on the radio :) Gratuitous pic -

Fan has never worked since I've owned it, only thing I've worked on behind the dash was fitting a new speedo cable - made sure not to tamper with anything else though. It's just a job I've been meaning to get round to since I got the vehicle 6 months ago, I've just got off my arse to start...

Will have a last look around after lunch to see if there's any sign of it, think I'll probably end up doing what you've suggested though.
