    Sluggish disco.........not any more!

It can be done to all manual 300's, and a few auto 300's, early ones if I'm right. The auto's that have EDC it cannot be done to :)

    Disco 1 Insurance

That does really depress me, mines more than that a month. Still, my fault for wanting a V8 and having points on my licence :o

Going by your sig. and avatar your have a td5? don't want to try these adjustments on one of them. A remap would be far better for a td5

300 TDi Tug, the dogs dangly bits :)

Might be worth you turning up the fuel pump to help with the towing if it hasn't been done already. Good guide in this thread http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/sluggish-disco-not-any-more-146991.html

    V8 and 300tdi gearboxes

Simple question, is it the transfer box that's different between the V8 and 300tdi manual gearbox or is it the whole lot? Only asking as I want to convert my auto V8 to manual and might be getting my hands on a cheap 300.

    Spotlights..Whats best ?

I have mine wired into the main beam and never had any problems, they aren't small ones either but aren't that much brighter than the headlights due to the bulbs in them.

    Hot running problems

It's now sorted, was the TPS :D So far it all seems to be running as it should on both petrol and gas, don't want to set light to it now lol So to recap if anyone has similar problems in the future; - Not always starting was due to cheap and poor quality HT leads, fixed with new leads - Not...

    Disco 300 running gear into a 90?

The 300 sits further back, about 2 inches I think, if you are using the 90's original gearbox. If you use the gearbox from a 300 90 then it will in as it should, same as if you were to use the auto from the disco. That's how I understand it. Edit: jamesmartin beat me to it!

    Hot running problems

Its fine when approaching 1800, then it will just drop as soon as it hits it and then be fine until it hits 1800 again. It isn't the ECU, changed that for another known good one and it's still the same.

    Hot running problems

Bit of an update, still got the won't rev above 1800rpm in petrol problem, haven't had time to get a diagnostic done so still at a lose on what the problem is. But I did find out today that when just started it will rev and drive happily for a couple of minutes and then the problem will come...

    Discovery 300Tdi Head Gasket Queries

I've got a 300 going into my dad's 90 soon, would it be worth doing the HG even though it hasn't gone for piece of mind or just leave it? Only contemplating doing it as the engines out. Sorry to hijack aswell :)

Fitting spotlights to a D2 Facelift

I assume when you say they will be pointing skywards you mean the light coming from them? Can you not just turn the lens round 180 degrees?

    HD rear bumper recommendation

Aye £250 is a lot just for a bit of metal like that, hence while I'll be sticking with the old crap one and spending the money on some much needed welding :)

Koni Shocks, but which springs ?

I've just ordered some bearmach blue springs after asking on here and got some recommendations. Were £55 for a pair from devon4x4.

    HD rear bumper recommendation

Ah fair enough, I miss read the bolts to the body rather than chassis. In that case I agree with what you were saying. I do quite like the look of that rear bumper though. Could you not alternatively just fit jate rings to the chassis which would sort out the recovery point?
