    BCU Repair or Replace?

##UPDATE## I sent my BCU off to Rick after removing it from the car whilst it wasn't immobilised and he tried a number of times to read it but with no success. In the end, he took the chip out of the bcu and soldered it into another known good bcu. I received it back yesterday and fitted it...

    Land Rover DC100 Defender Replacement

I think Land Rover are going to struggle replacing the defender and keeping their current defender customers. The reason it's being stopped is because of new European safety and emmisions restrictions, so building a simple, reliable, robust 4x4 along with strict emissions limits just don't go...

    disco 2 tailgate

Have you tried pulling the seal out of the way on the inside to access the child lock? It's roughly in line with the interior door handle on the right hand edge of the door.

    RR P38 leather

More work to get them in a d1 but it has been done before. RR classic seats go straight into a d1 though (assuming it's a 5 door).

    300 v td5

TD5 is a better engine and they drive nicer due to how the axles are mounted differently. If you do motorway miles and long journeys go for a TD5. However the basic nature of the 300 gives it more character and piece of mind that when it breaks, it's a diy fix and won't break the bank. I...

    Clutch Change

I used an engine crane though the drivers door to suspend the gearbox by a strap through the tunnel and let it down gently, it was abit awkward underneath though as the feet get in the way. I used a britpart heavy duty clutch as it was the only one I could get in a hurry and surprisingly I had...

Problem with rear lights - Please help

Brake lights are fused, but I guess you mean the brake lights at the sides are working ok? I would meter the resistance or check for continuity between the earth point on the bulb case and the body of the car/earth header to see if there's a bad connection. I found afew dry corroded wires round...

    Disco 2 rear bumper mounts

Anyone replaced their rear chassis section and have the bumper mount brackets left over? Mine have been cut off so it would save me making new ones if someone has some laying around...

    BCU Repair or Replace?

Managed to get the car started again so I stopped the engine and quickly removed the battery so that I could remove the BCU. I'll update the thread once I have more info on whether the BCU is faulty.

    Off road damage?

Could be the rubber donut on the rear prop. Have a quick look underneath, it'll be obvious if it's that. Otherwise you need to jack it up and start checking through various components.

    disco key

Yes the lock button activates the locks, alarm and immobilisor and the unlock button does the opposite. If you leave it unlocked and don't start it within a certain amount of time, the immobilisor kicks in again and you'll need to press the unlock button again to dis-arm it.
