just a quick one my mums 1998 4.6 keeps getting the gearbox overheat msg come up have checked the fluid and seems to be overfilled to me have checked when cold in neutral twice and seems to be a good 15-20mm over the max mark could this be causing the problem? or any other ideas thanks

had the same thing on mine mate and was water getting in the pollon filter and sitting in the fan and when you turn the fan up the water sprays out and gives the sound you described also the wet floor have a listen near the glove box and alter the fan speed and see what happens hth

hi everyone i was driving along earlier and the car cut out (been having a few issues with lpg) not sure if anything to do with it but thought i should mention anyway started and carried on driving and then got the gearbox fault msg flash up on the display and lost the gear selector display...

you need a new window mechanism as the teeth have come of /worn out i would say my mum old p38 had same problem if showing the (window not set) msg try putting a small piece of wood at the top and sgut it up to the wood should trick it into thinking it closed all the way hth

so the general opinion is i should be getting more than 140-150 miles from 82 litres remember it is all town driving so will be less but befor it was serviced i did get 180 miles from it but did not drive aswell as it does now just eveyone i speak to seems to be getting around the 200-220 mark...
