I love it - easier with a caravan though as packing & setting camp loses at least 3 hrs a day when you've got kids.

Have you tried an old fashioned impact driver? Failing that whack the bolt heads downwards with a steel hammer while turning them with a ring spanner.

Slightly unique bit is that LR didnt bother designing a lubrication system to get to the final reduction gear until 1997 :( But atf type of oil is the correct stuff - usually a red colour

IF you got the new tank from the same place that didn't check your sedimenter - take the tank back - pick a busy day & make a fuss you may get a refund :D

Check your clutch hydraulics first as it may be as simple as low fluid level, poor slave & master cylinder seals. However its not an uncommon fault on the LT77 -either recon box or replace synchro - depends on your level of skill & bank balance which you choose.

Unclip the seat back trim at the bottom - can be fiddly but once it starts to move its easy enough. Slide the trim up over the seat until you can see the headrest stem - use a screwdriver to push the detent spring out of the way in the headrest stem - its on the left near the bottom.

Next time you here the noise dip the clutch, and take your foot off the throttle, if the sound abate its the engine side of the drivetrain, either clutch, release bearing, or damping flywheel. :( If it doesn't abate the cause is in the transmission side of the drivetrain, either gearbox...
