Pos, it's a Defender engine, not a Disco Lump, so there shouldn't be any chopping needed.

At the mo I have 2.5 n/a in my 90, which overall I'm happy with - but I would really like the benefits of a more powerfull engine for longer drives, and the steep bloody hills we have around here. There's a chance I could get a 300tdi, with gearbox. Theres a couple of questions I'd like to...

That's what I was thinking. If your going to all that hassle of replacing the chasiss... I'd want a new,galvanised bugger underneath me:)

SORTED.... Twas the A-frame joint that was 'Clunking'. BUT... what an arseole to get off!!! ( I gave up, and let the garage push the bugger out):mad: Still got some backlash in the transmission, but not enough to bother me. But, overall a great improvement.:)

Yep.... the cowl is off, and running temp is fine, and today has been warm - and I've been stuck behind a few Emmits ( believe me they do drive at snails pace), and the temp gauge hasn't moved from where it normally sits. So, until I find some new bushes - it's staying off:D

Do I really need the fan cowl on my 90? Only ask because one of the rubber connecting bushe's ( top) has perished, and bust. Tryed to find a new one, but given up. So, I was thinking of removing the cover completely.:eek:

This happened to me a couple of weeks ago... change the Master, and Slave cylinders, bleed the system, and that should cure it. Worked for me anyway,:)

Well... finally replaced my master cylinder, and slave cylnder, with new units. This has made a difference to my 'crunchy' reverse problem. Initally it was just about cured... It over the last couple of weeks I have noticed when the engine is fully warmed up, It still sounds like it's...

I have to agree, since adjusting my pump I'm getting a considerable increase in performence. I've only adjusted it the once, but reckon there's a tad more to be squeezed out of her yet. I reckon I'm getting at least an extra 15miles to a tank too.:D

I've noticed a 'clunk', from the back of the truck, occasionally when taking up the drive on my 2.5 N/A. Any ideas as to what it is? only noticable going at low speeds, always happens giving a bit a gas after a speed bump! Thanks

Here's pics of what I found behind my dash... Hope they help. It took me about a week to weld grind out, and weld some plate on, and then saturate the bugger in waxoil.... that was doing a bit each night after work. The big hole below the wiper motor. I welded plate to it from the cab...

I've just derusted my bulkhead on my defender. Have a good prob, and poke behind your dash too. I did - and found 4 good sized holes that had to welded! Obvioulsy this means taking the dash out, and turns into a bigger job than expected.... But don't they always. In fact I'm still trying to...
