How hard is it to change to 24 spline then. At the moment my series3 is running old range rover axles. Would i have to change the front as well or would that still be ok. What axle would straight bolt in fit (if any). Blimey i only want a tad more grip :)

After spending ages trying to work out what will break and what wont, im coming to the conclusion that diff locks are very likely to break something if im using 10 spline diff and shafts, so is there anybody who does just a limited slip diff in 10 spline for the old range rover axle. Im thinking...

Thats what i thought. If i wanted to put in an arb diff locker would i be better of changing to 24 spline? I presume if i did id be better of changing the whole rear axle. If i did that what would be the easiest route to go. I also presume id want a diff the same ratio as the front, (woulg I?)...

As title, are the classic range rover diff/shafts 10 or 24 spline

Just looking at an advert for another landy which says it has a detroit locker in the rear but no way of proving this. Is there a simple test that you can do with to test whether it has one or not, thanks

He's probably right on the brittle front. Plastic downpipe does tend to stiffen up and become more brittle in the winter so treat it gently when its cold. Looks tidy tho!!:)

Yep bitsa everything by the looks of it, must be a defender front cos the front panel doesnt look anything like that. I presume it was bought forward in line to make room for the rad and elec fans. At least im piecing together what it all is, thanks for yr replies:)

I dunno then, its defo a 68, its definately got the headlights in the wings,the front is about 15mm back from the wing fronts. its good fun what ever it is:D

No i think its a series2a, but with series3 wings and the front panel makes it look like a defender from the front:(. Its a 68, but i must admit the chassis is in really really good nick
