    heater issue

You may be able to look in under the fuse cover. undo the two 1/4 turn screws under the steering column, and you should see the mechanism on the side of the heater assembly. either the wire has come out, or the screw holding the whole lot together has become loose and given up

Strange cooling/heating problem got me stumped!

300tdi's always over cool, and the only reason you dont get as much heat at idle, is because the water pump is running fairly slowly, when you rev it, the flow will increase. You are correct though, the engine is massively overcooled, thats why many people add electric fans, to get better...

    Do you trust your snorkel!?

I have good reason to have **** all confidence in mine, well until i get my hands on it! I got trapped in a river on the 1st and within 2 minutes of standing, she hydraulicd. the water was fairly deep, flowing over the top of the bonnet but i sure as hell didnt expect it to go so fast! Sluggish disco.........not any more!

I played around with my pump a while ago, gave me a lovely boost in power. I tell you though, i did an oil change the other day and used some forte engine flush, i always use engine flush on badly serviced vehicles. My goodness me, it pulls like a bloody train now! And to make it even better...

    Lost Key and Fob

If its a late one, then you wont have a spider anyway, mine is controlled by the alarm ecu and the dds immobiliser on the back of the pump. It should work fine though

Just replaced the bearing in the belt tensioner

That clip is a pain in the arse! It took some getting out, but i got mine out, replaced the bearing, and found that the bearing was slack on the tensioner arm. I shimmed mine up with a drinks can and now it doesnt squeel at all, even after being under a river for 5 odd hours!

    knocking at rear

did you change all 5 watts linkage bushes? Also, although you changed the anti roll bar drop links, it would be worth sliding under and having a good tug in them again, its not unknown for new ones to becone loose quickly.

Gadgets thread, what have you got!

Well, it has yet to be installed, but this little beastie will control all of my lights and compressor etc. It is what is used in police vehicles and isnt a cheap little setup, but very good to control lighting circuits! Now i need to wire the sodding thing in! Cheers 'en!

    Discovery colour

Look on the VIN plate, located on the slam panel under the bonnet. It should have some rev wieghts and a box that says paint. there should be a stamped number, this is you paint code. Google that and it should give you the colour. Or give the code to a mixer, and they will get it made
