I am fairly inexperienced with automatic gears so do not really know what I can do apart from putting it in drive or reverse and moving. I have sometimes changed down from top to 3rd and back. You say you use the gear lever to force frequent changes, does that mean you can change up and down...

I think you are right about the mileage except I have done the mileage but in small trips. Unfortunately I have been otherwise engaged and unable to go very far, so down to the shops for milk etc has almost been the case. However, I am going to follow Datatek's advise and try another lucas oil...

I have now done over 500 miles and there does not seem to be much of an improvement. I have not been doing many long runs as I have spent some time in and out of hospital. I have been driving it gently when I do drive it, should I maybe just drive normally? I am thinking of changing the oil...

Hi gents, I have a 1999my dhse auto and I want to check the gearbox oil level but I cant find any info on how to just 'check' the level. Can anyone help me out. Do I simply remove the filler plug and see if there is any in it? This is all far to complicated for an old geezer like me who is...

Hi JT, no, not this time. I had that done about a year ago and it made a huge difference to the operation of the gearbox. If you are considering doing it, it is well worthwhile.
