Just make sure that you get a key blank that can be cut, your blank needs two lines cut in it from end to end otherwise you can not get it cut at a cobblers !

It is quite easy to undo the switch and no springs to jump out. Drill out the rivets and lift off the top of the switch. Look up on the Australian site and somebody has a really good guide. If your switch is black then it is even easier than the beige version.

I was in a similar position last week. Get your battery drop tested, if it is ok then you need to get a code reading. If the battery is faulty then get a new one, mine was £115 for an 800 amp cranking rating. As a word of caution my battery was failing and so is my XYZ switch so I am going to...

I would get it tested by a local garage they will be able to tell you if it is OK or not. If you have to get a new one, go for at least 800amp cranking. Hopefully it will be the battery which should mean you don't have to replace your XYZ switch !
