hi all was after some info on the limp mode on my td5 what sort of things do I expect i.e. lack of power restricted rev range thanks for your help

Never known a TD5 to go into limp mode or even if it has that option as I've had maf sensor fault and injector fault neither even showed fault codes but found faults after looking at live data.

If you are having lack of power the MAF sensor would be where I'd start.

If it is an automatic it can go into limp mode. The M & S lights come on on the dashboard and the 'D' on the dasboard flashes. It will also only allow 3rd gear, N or R. I would suggest doing a search (if this is what you are getting) for XYZ switch and you will learn, as I have, more than you will ever need to know! Basically it is an electronic rather than mechanical issue but the switch is £400 from an LR dealer.

thanks for all your replys by the sound of it its not going into limp mode its a automatic I have had it plugged in to landrover diagnostic and no fault codes were stored or pending the car has a nasty misfire feels like a petrol engine that's lost a plug I have changed the injector loom as there was oil on the red plug going on to the ECU I have check this again just to be on the safe side and it is dry orignaly when I got the car it had a fault were the fuel pump would just cut out i have replaced the pump and bypassed the fuel pump relay so the pump has a power feed from the ignition this seemed to sort the problem but aftere 200 miles the car has developed this misfire and is lacking in power thanks for you help Chris
