    What's a lad to do?

Supercharged L322. P38s are admirable machines in many ways but 35K would get you in something better. I enjoy my P38 too but if I had 35K to spank on a 'new' car, I'd be looking elsewhere, and frankly what I'd end up with would probably have AMG or Msomething written on the boot. :)

easiest way to drain p38 fuel tank ?

It's a pity fuel has pumped to the point where it's at the engine, else I'd be tempted to siphon out the tank using the classic tube and spit method, then brim it with diseasel. What little petrol remained in the tank would then be very diluted by 100 litres of diesel.

On my radio, on my radio, on my radio...

A left field idea, but you could stream R4LW to your smartphone then hear it over the stereo via a tape adapter? Not particularly elegant, but it should work. The app would be free and a tape adapter is a couple of quid tops.

    reverse sensors

Steady there Martyn, using logic to challenge those so absolutely sure of their own ill informed drivel probably won't work... ;) But hey, presumably those of us who quite like parking sensors are "brain dead, non spatially aware maggots", so aren't worth listening to anyway?

    reverse sensors

Zzzzzz. This boring old argument again. I presume you have exactly the same opinion about power steering, assisted brakes and synchromesh? You don't need any if them if you can drive properly...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Replaced all the bulbs in the HEVAC unit. Big improvement.

    reverse sensors

That's where my display is, just above the mirror. Works well and is nicely discreet as I don't normally favour aftermarket solutions to problems.

    P38

Looks great! I love Epsom Green and if my wife hadn't expressed a preference for black then I'd have wanted a car that looked exactly like yours! :) Once the initial novelty wears off you'll start looking for things to do. I'd wager that one if those will be to return your grille and bits...

    reverse sensors

A previous owner had fitted parking sensors to mine. An option well worth having in my book! If you do fit a different aftermarket system let us know what you went for and how you got on.

    Rear wiper, unstoppable

Thanks for the ideas. Would I be looking for a corroded or missing pin etc in the connector? If so I've had a check and it all looks pretty ok to me, though I've not got the multimeter out or anything. What would the BECM relay look like?

    Rear wiper, unstoppable

Don't apologise! Your advice is always appreciated and it was worth a shot. I knew I might need to do a repair job so I purposefully made the cut in the middle, thus easy to fix.

    Rear wiper, unstoppable

Update to this thread. I cut the purple/black wire which had precisely naff all effect. My next task is to get hold of a replacement rear wiper motor and try that (and repair) the snipped wire. The current motor is now on my garage floor looking shifty, it knows its days are numbered. If...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Cleaned up the four hurricane alloys I bought recently in preparation for painting them. I'm thoroughly looking forward to eventually getting them on the car as my black wheels are NOT growing on me. Mulling over what tyres to put on these wheels when I'm done doing them up. If only there was...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Technically it was yesterday, but I fitted a replacement headlight, meaning I now have a matching set! Hurrah!

Nice choice! I'm a big fan of Mercs, really good cars usually, especially now they've rediscovered some of their engineering quality. I hope it serves her (and junior!) well. :)

    What's the SLK replacement Martyn?

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I helped a fellow member get his non starting P38 off the road and onto his driveway. :) Earlier in the day, I fixed my drivers window which was starting to struggle to go up by drilling out a rattly rivet and replacing it with a proper nut, bolt and washers, and fitted a replacement door card.

Congratulations matey! I bet you're now in the position where you've got bags packed by the front door. :) Best of luck with everything. Let us know when you've got some happy news!

    RF reciever

Seems like several of us have pregnant wives. :) My next child (cost centre 2) is due on November 22nd and our first is 13 months old. The "other" car in my household is a BMW 330i Touring, which is actually proving to be one of the best cars I've ever had. Once the Range Rover has earnt my...

    P38

I'd be amazed if there are any truly, genuinely fault free P38s for sale, outside of the specialist forums of course. The newest P38 is now over a decade old, and nothing lasts forever. I think the buying process comes down to a risk assessment. Satisfying yourself you've identified the...
