Just picked it up, tdv6 SE black with black leather, dealer had to fit new suspension pump, electric handbrake, all new discs and pads and suspension bushes so I'm hoping for a little trouble free motoring. Also had steps, privacy rear glass, disco 4 rear lights and clear side repeaters fitted...

Wasn't bothered about selling but have to now, just having a few bits done also so will be fully serviced with fresh oil, oil filter, fuel and air filter and heater plugs for winter.

It's not the cost of buying the chassis and bulkhead it's the amount of work involved swapping them over and also extra costs. Got mine down to the chassis and looking over it I realised everything was scrap, changed suspension, brakes, brake lines, fuel lines, fuel tank, every bush, every nut...

My td5 was a nitemare, electrical problems every other day, head gasket went and also oil cooler think it was went, it was basically a pig and I now wouldn't be given one. No they are probably not all like this however I went to the 200tdi and a year on and one oil change it's perfect

A defender that doesnt leak and floats, i could make a fortune hmmmmm, not much chance of that but it does enable me to get places i wouldnt get in the car

Wouldn't stray from my 94 200tdi, might be noisy and less powerful but I just don't care, no electrics, ecu's, no emission crap and pretty easy to work on. It's my daily drive but only travel 10-15 mins to work and it's great for when I'm off sea fishing around the coast

Got pulled for the third time in Yorkshire in a month driving mine so they are doing their job but quite annoying all the same. Hope it turns up but still worth having a look around local area as they get parked up to check for trackers etc, car parks, local tracks, back streets
