    Converting a series 3 4x2 to 4x4

Those are pretty rare in unmolested form if memory serves, particularly in that good shape. I'll be the odd man out, I'd have left it as a 4x2.

    Looking for a new battery

Optima always had a good reputation, but some years back they sold out to Johnson Controls and the manufacturing was moved to Mexico. Since then there are a lot or reports about failures/short lifespan. I had really good luck with Exide Orbital AGM's. Odyssey (made by Enersys) are very well...

    Discovery 1 steel wheels ...

Just reversing the entire wheel is not safe, as mentioned. The reason is that there is a raised bit formed in to the wheel that deforms when you tighten down the lug nuts to keep them tight. Sort of like a lock washer effect. If you reverse them that effect doesn't happen.

Hub carrier-to-steering knuckle bolt thread pitch?

Anyone know the thread pitch of the hub carrier to steering knuckle bolt, PN FC112177P? I know it's 12mm x 85mm, but I need to know the pitch and I don't have one to measure. Cheers.

    above fuel filter

LUCAS/CAV calls it the "head". Land Rover doesn't list it separate from the filter, so I guess they get away without calling it anything. ;) If you're needing to get the whole thing, I highly recommend Racor units. They are excellent filters. They are available with heaters & water alarms...

    Series III questions

    - Axle plate is fine for jack stand, but really most anywhere on the axle tube is fine. Just not on the swivel balls. - In addition to the mainshaft nut, a weak detent spring on the selector shaft can contribute to it also. Though from your description I'd look at the mainshaft nut first. - When...

    wolf wheels

My Wolf's are tubeless and are clearly stamped "Tubeless". The PN will identify for sure. I've never seen 15" Wolf wheels. Any chance of you posting the PN? I'm trying to collect L/R wheel part numbers.

This? Referenced in the link in my first reply, if that's what you mean. Of the parts that go between the valve spring and the rocker, those are all I see.

    CORTECO hub seals?

Right, I've been using them for a few years, but I'm out and need to get some more, was just wondering if I should stick with them, or was there a better (or just as good for less) brand.

    CORTECO hub seals?

My wife is in the UK visiting family and I thought I'd have her bring a few bits. One thing I need are RTC3511 hub seals to fit my D90 and D1's (I know the D1 specs a different seal). Are CORTECO about the best for the price (which seems about 2x Allmakes price)? Who has the best price on them...

    Split charging

"180A continuously - sufficient for the heavyest winching" Must be running an ATV winch. Looking at the description I think you can do a better setup to achieve the same thing buying the components yourself. I haven't seen higher than 200amp continuous solenoids, but I'm sure higher...

anyone got stuck in there landy??

Cool. My dad and I used to go do that when I was a kid, always pulling people out. This was in the 60's, so no fancy tow straps. I can't believe we didn't wreck someone's car with the chain we used.
