Just leave them until it doesn't start they aren't a servicable part it not necessary to change them tegu wry.

The hi/low works off a cable so it could be the cable that's seized or the pin that connects the cable to the gear selector you could get it up on a ramp and give it a good spray of wd40

Iam going to have to pull the box out of my td5 as the noise which I've put down to a spigot bush now is doing my head in big time now also my clutch is a bit high. I've got a land rover clutch and got a spigot bearing but on looking I've seen a couple of duel mass conversion flywheels for sale...

I've got a spigot bush off the net hopefully I'll be able to check it on my box before putting it back in. I've heard there's a clutch fork kit or summit of the likes that iam better changing too. Also people are saying to change the flywheel but I don't think there's nothing wrong with it so...

Is your discovery a td5 or a v8? Iam breaking a v8 which has just been de-aced with brand new parts fitted if your interested.

Yeah the noise does go away when fully depressed and comes on halfway

I've actually been looking into removing mine altogether with a kit now as I've heard of the benefits of smoother driving.

Hi all I've got a disco 2 td5 and for an age now has had a noise from the clutch especially when reversing out the yard first thing on a morning it's likes single wirry noise this has started to happen all the time now and I've put it down to being a thrust bearing so have come to the decision...

This has now been rectified. I got an auto electrician to check my drain out he found that the drain stopped when he took one of the fuses out under the bonnet, the fuse was one of the fuses for the abs which was a permanent live, taking it out put the abs light on. He got a wiring diagram but...

Yeah still got motor and linkage.

My td5 used to do a similar thing from time to time I changed the egr valve and it sorted it.

Sorry put full leather trim into my own one. Had ps2 and tvs in seats etc.

All front lights, bumper etc gone still have the grill though
