P38 to South of France and back....

Thanks for the advice. Just had a new radiator, thermostat and housing and had the rocker cover gaskets replaced after a slight oil leak - seems to be fine now. LPG has been serviced - Just got 22mpg on the last tank!

P38 to South of France and back....

We've finally made the decision to take the P38 and tow our caravan to France this summer. I've just finished making all the arrangements! We leave home on 5th June heading for Dover where we stay overnight before crossing the channel on 6th. First stop will be at Saint-Martin-des-Besaces...

    L322 LPG Conversion

Also should've said that they were able to fit the filler under the fuel flap alongside the petrol filler, so no unsightly filler in the wing or bumper :)

    L322 LPG Conversion

Hi Matt I used this company to do my 4.6 V8 P38 back in November. They do it 1 day (7.30am - 8.30pm in my case) with (again in my case) 3 guys working on it. I had a free car to use during the day. They also provide a 2 year guarantee, a certificate and insist on you bringing it back after 1...

    radio help

What problems are you having with the radio? I also have a 2000 vogue and had radio problems when I bought it... Mine turned out to be the amp, which I had to replace. All sorted now :)

    Honest opinion on LPG

I had the AC STAG system fitted by Profess last November - no change in performance (I've got a 4.6 v8) and we've been getting around 19mpg consistently since then. They did the job in 1 day (8am - 8pm) and gave me a car to use during the day. They give a 2 year warranty, and a free 1 month...

    Range Rover LPG?

Hi Craig It's not bad - around 16.1 mpg. Assuming unleaded costs around £1.12, that's a cost-based equivalent 0f 29.6mpg - not bad for a very heavy vehicle with a 4ltr engine! My 4.6 has been getting around 19mpg consistently since we had it converted in November. Rich

    Hot p38 4.6

Got back from a short run today and could smell the hot engine in my 4.6 V8. Temp gauge was normal, and coolant level just below the line (as usual). Some pressure in the system but not more than normal. Left it to cool for about half an hour (while reading on here about possible causes)...

    2001 P38 4.0 Gas Conversion

I had my 2000 4.6 Vogue converted by Profess Autogas last November after a lot of online research. They completed the fit in 1 day (8am to 8pm) and provided a free courtesy car. Although they're 140 miles from you, at £1400 for the V8 conversion, it's likely that this will still be cheaper...

    new range rover owner

Hi Craig Welcome to the forum. I too went through the same considerations before bying my first RR last November. I concluded that a 4.6 with LPG conversion would work for us. We looked at a number of dealer cars with "recent LPG conversions" but in the end decided to find a good 4.6 and get...

    cruise control

When mine died, the t-piece which joins the vacuum pipes had a crack in it - possibly the result of a previous fix as they can get quite brittle with age.

    radio removal

You'll need a set of radio keys - easily obtained from someone like Maple audio (this is where I purchased mine) or flea-bay.

    DSP Amp location?

Picked the new amp up yesterday. £440 inc vat  Anyway, I was worried aboout differences in the part numbers - old amp was XKQ100340 120094 (HK A4053 BE 3895); new one was XKQ100340 H70858 (HK A4062 BE 3895), but mr RR assured me that it was the right one. I got him to agree that I could...

    Honest opinion on LPG

Mine cost £1400 fully installed and certified from Profess Autogas. They completed the install in a day (8am drop off, 8pm collect) and provided a free courtesy car for the day. They also included a post-install check 1 month later. They offer a 3 year guarantee on the parts and a 2 year on the...

I've been having similar problems with my 2000 4.6 Vogue. I've got soooooo fed up with not having any sounds that I ordered a replacement amp from RR today - £377 plus vat! I'm picking it up on Wednesday. I'm not absolutely certain that it's the amp, but everything I've read on here and...

    Opinons sought: P38 4.0 -v- 4.6

When I was looking for a P38 with an LPG conversion in mind, the LPG spcialist advised that a 4.6 would be better as, in his experience, they were more economical than the 4.0. Having bought and converted a 2000 4.6 Vogue, we're getting 19mpg regularly.

    DSP Amp location?

Right - I've now got the amp out of the car. Land Rover have quoted £395 for a replacement! I'm going to order one on Monday so should have it sometime next week. I'll post the results once I've had a cance to collect and fit it.

    DSP Amp location?

Thanks - I was beginning to think that the previous owner had taken it out and sold it! I'll get the screwdrivers back out then!] Cheers.
