Hi i have a problem with my cruise control the light on the dash comes on but it does not work i have checked the pipes on the vacum and they are all ok any other things i should look at ? , it did work but just stopped. ps its a p38 1999 4.6 hse

some else mentioned the pick up ring for the steering wheel when his went kaput

There's quite a detailed troubleshooting section in Rave for the cruise control. Must run through it myself sometime - mine's never worked.

Quite how LR managed to come up with such an unreliable and crap system at the time the P38 was out is beyond me. The one in my last Vectra was fantastic and that didn't rely on stupid antiquated vacuum pipes etc. Mind you, even the heated seats still worked when I sold that. Fat chance with a RR.

When mine died, the t-piece which joins the vacuum pipes had a crack in it - possibly the result of a previous fix as they can get quite brittle with age.

As has been posted..go through the detailed troubleshooting guide on RAVE, otherwise your just guessing and wasting time & effort

Clean the plug under the vac pump n it should bust into life
