Perhaps post some pictures of the car for us?

    P38A mpg p38 2.5dse

Have you compared the displayed mpg with the actual? I thought I'd read that chipped cars tend to over calculate the mpg because there is more fuel going in that the car expects?

Also, the computer may well not be accurate. Mine does a couple of miles more mpg than the trip computer indicates.

    Opinions Please

Could you buy a cheap diesel saloon for the commute and keep the P38? Or even take the train to London if it's not too often?

Don't they say that a Land Rover that isn't leaking has just run out of oil! :)

    P38A Retrofitting TV into a 2001 P38A

I'm nearing completion of a project to fit a 7" android tablet into the dash. That would give you the ability to stream tv across a data connection or use things like iplayer to download and watch tv.

    P38A Holland and Holland anyone?

Unless the car dealer is also a licensed firearms dealer, there won't be any guns. The H&H can't have come with guns anyway (firearms licensing).

    Oil seal rear axle P38

Would it be worth getting a price from a Land Rover dealer in Norway to save importing the part personally?

P38A Help please!! Has anybody got a Nanocom or syncmate?

You need to state what engine you have (diesel, Gems or Bosch) so that you can find a Nanocom with the correct modules.

P38A P38 to Norway and back what spares to take next time?

Just get European Breakdown cover and go and enjoy the trip. You can't cover every single possible problem, so what's the point in taking a few spares when you know that if something fails, it'll be a part you haven't got. Either that or get a large trailer and tow a spares-car and a...

P38A Warning icon : low range (meshing gears pic)

Whilst that's true, a leak can spring at any time, most likely when the engine is hot. So how do you mitigate the circumstance where you check the fluid in the morning, drive off, get a leak and the next thing you know the head's cooked? Or do you stop at every motorway service area to check the...

P38A Warning icon : low range (meshing gears pic)

Or of someone who actually cares about and understands the car and wants to avoid a future problem. I've just installed something similar in my car because I don't want a future overheating problem. I find it ridiculous that the car has an audible and visual warning for low screenwash, but...

P38A Strange rear air suspension fault

I'd guess at perished air bags. I have a Subaru Legacy with air suspension and the front bags perished at the point where the bag 'folds' in normal height, causing it to drop when parked. If I raised the suspension before parking it, it was fine because as the bags inflated the point where the...

    Diesel fuel filter housing wiring?

The 3 pin plug can only go in one way. You can see whether the tank pump has failed by pulling the hose off the fip and turning on the ignition. If fuel comes out, the pump is pumping. From memory, when you push in the clip to release the pipe, it comes apart in a different way to that which...

    Tyres for 16" wheels

So, I've seen lots of talk about tyres (of course) and there is a lot of love for the Nexen Rodian. But the majority of threads are from those with 18" wheels. Now I have 16" wheels, so the choices are different. The Nexen Rodian AT seems to be available in that size (though, strangely...

1997 2.5 diesel engine ecu change

I wonder if you are getting confused with the 1999 change to Bosch on the petrol cars? I'd assume you need exactly the same part number. You'll also need a Nanocom or similar to align the BECM and ECU. What problems are you having, exactly?

    Diagnostic tool

That's just an OBD2 reader as far as I can see, and of no real use in this context.
