Titch has just hit the nail on the head, I have the exact same leak, I have done T seals, sump seal with no success. It's not a rear crankshaft seal as that would come from inside the bell housing it is a stitch says the seal between block and flywheel housing. I've left mine until a future date...

Could it be the connection/ wire to the stop solenoid on the fuel injection pump? I fitted a new solenoid during my resurrection work on the mighty F989EFM as it did like you say " ran a second or too after turning ignition off". Another thought is if there's any debris in that stop solenoid...

Er can I ask why you fitted the old black box to a new alternator? It could well be that too, the black box is the voltage regulator and when broken give the same issue you have. Sorry missed that
