To get a realistic valuation for your td4 you need to know what price they are currently selling for. Look on autotrader website and enter in your model details as if your looking to buy one. that should give you a good idea as what price to ask for. Dealer will only offer you trade or auction...

Welcome to the freebie owners section. TD4 is the one to have. What surprised me the most with mine is what an excellent motorway cruiser they are. 80mph all day long no probs and quieter than the mondeo i owned before it. Enjoy and have fun.

Just to close this thread: I fitted an Exide battery (75ah-760cca) and have'nt had any probs since, Last 2 mornings have been frosty but started ok. Looks like old battery could'nt handle the cold mornings. Thanks to all for info & replies.

The Freelander is Europe's best selling 4x4 and the TD4 is the best freelander. Say's it all really.

It's a rover k series engine. biggest worry is fuel consumption. i've seen an average mpg quoted as 22mpg.

I was told by dealer 37mpg on motorways will mean sticking to 60mph. Doing 70mph or more and the wind resistance kills ur fuel economy.

Charged the battery up sunday night and it's started ok last 2 mornings (2 very cold mornings) so it seems like battery is slowing losing it's charge. I'll see how long it lasts before it fails to start.
