Mine leans that way and I have checked a few, they all seem to! Seems like fuel tank, battery and driver on the same side give it a tilt.(non canvas)

They are only a fiver each from dealers. I got them from land ranger but they all have them, cheaper than eBay.

Interesting point about homologation of engines, I have a hazy memory that the 19J engine is accepted in places like switzerland and the US, but later ones like the 200 tdi's aren't. We have a very free system in Britain, not the same everywhere.

My 2a has tighter steering than the 90s I have had, not saying much but a methodical check as suggested could make a big difference, but watch the braking in the wet, especially if you have knobbly tyres. Did a four wheel drift the day I changed to Michelin 4x4-ORs.

I now have two leaking round smiths heaters! I am giving up on buying 40 year old spares and thinking of biting the bullet with a new heater for the winter. There are some kit car heaters at £125 on eBay, anybody tried one? Or is there an easy option?

It should pull out far enough to fiddle behind, that way you don't have to start re-attaching things like the speedo cable which can be a pain. Just enough to get your hand is is fine, I was able to change the voltage regulator on the bulkhead and wire up an auxiliary socket to replace the green...

I had the same problem with my diesel cut off switch. As I don't need it with a 19j engine and it was disconnected, the panel came out easy, now it's my heater control, with a heater valve in the pipeline, I have to disconnect the cable at the engine end to get the panel out.
