Take the rubber nipple off and seal the pipe,you will have to seal it if you fit a snorkle anyway or you are defeating the object of a snorkle because the system wont be watertight.

7/16" whitworth was the original bolt size ,5/8 is a fraction bigger,I used to grind them off and fit new ones(you will probably have to resort to the grinder for some of them anyway)
