    300tdi to 3.5V8 conversion ????? help

you can fit a 3.5 to a tdi but you need a conversion kit. i think that they are less than £300 now but it consists of the bell housing adapter, and engine mounts that fit the engine to the chassis original engine mounts. no cutting or welding involved. speak to milner conversions. google them!

    Just bought my first Landy!

with all these floods a snorkel would be usefull. safari ones are cool, about £130 i think. a radio is also a big hit on long journeys but only fit one thats good enough to be audible over a 100db landy on the motorway.

    scarey handling

its the tyres, was exactly the same problem with the 300 when swaped over swaped em back knowing that i got to take it much easier. my advice is there are better off road tyres and better onroad tyres than the deestones. i reckon that a decent set of a/t would out perform them on the muddy stuff...

    scarey handling

im one of them. as far as im concerned if you hav'nt got anything nice to say you shouldn't say anything atall. my best advice if you don't get along with someone is to pretend you do or say nothing. so what, sean ****ed up big deal.

    gearbox question

right then, all gearbox operations are as normal except that when changing down gears between 4th to 3rd it simply wont go in. no grinding no crunching, its like the gear simply isn't there, like if you try and jam the the gearlever into the space between gears. interestingly i have just managed...

    scarey handling

my land rover wants to kill me. it all seems ok underneath so i can only assume its the tyres. im running a nearly new (90% good) set of deestone extra grips. and my land rover just literaly slides off the road at silly low speeds. eg roundabout at 10-15mph i get serious oversteer and its a job...

    1990 Defender 90 2.5TD advice

if your in doubt about weather the mot cert is genuine you can check it just by googling VOSA and cliking on their site. youl need a mot or v5 doc and youl need to know the reg number. my opinon of the 2.5td lump is very sceptical. i haven't heard much other than bad stuff however i have just...

200 TDi shopping - your thoughts please

earlier series doors will fit but i would be mor inclined to stay with push button type. ifv they are rotten beyond repair start playing the lottery. i recently got quoted £350 a door. (take off 1999 90)

    Springy bits.

just wonderd if it was all a myth that it would fully dislocate. i could easily imagine +2" shoix allowing standard springs to dislocate but not +2" springs aswell. but if you say they do im a happy bunny and will get that lift kit iv been bangin on to my girlfriend for weeks about:)

What are thry like to live with?

i agree with grunt, however you can buy a complete dog for a grand and spend 3 doing it up or spend your original 4 and get a tidy 300 tdi and aim to "restore" it in 5 years. after 5 years most people are trading in there 5 year old car for another 12 grand new car. by keeping your original...

    Springy bits.

just wondering about 2" lift kits. why do they say uou need dislocation cones when putting 2"+ springs and +2" shox on. surly if you give everything + 2" lift your springs wont dislocate anyway?

    disco 1 rear axle into a 200tdi '90?

maybe the extra width is made up in the disc brake hubs on the disco axle. if they are different widths its the first i'v heard of it.
