    Newbie with Freelander problems

next time you park it take your foot of the brakes then move it a few feet, then without touching the brakes switch it of leave it for however much time you can ie the week then try moving it, this should make sure there is no contact between the brake pads and discs so shouldn't stick, on point...

    Brake discs and pads

you would be better getting a calliper overhaul kit and just doing it that way expensive to replace the callipers if it's not necessary tha'ts my thinking anyway

IRD Unit oil how much will I need it to fill it up again?

i think its about 1.1ltr if memory serves me correct so you end up buying 2x 1 ltr bottles and by the way it's considered polite to introduce yourself before asking for help

Rubbing noise when turning with full lock

sticky at top of the page on VCU torque test results gives you a link to a way of testing it, while some debate has been had on the merits of the test it's the best we seem to have for now and will give you an indication of your VCU health, a naffed VCU can cause major damage to the whole drive...
  18. D

Rubbing noise when turning with full lock

would agree, search for how to test your vcu, wouldn't be driving until you had checked as the damaged caused can be quite severe
