I would say you're ok without then Tim, but if you pop in to Stratstones, they should be able to tell you if it had one when it left the factory or not.

That's the way I read it too, also includes CAT's.

Am I right in thinking you have a 2001 Td5? Early Td5's didn't have them as they were clean enough to meet the regulations at the time without them, when regulations changed, they were added. This was 2002 I believe. However, whether this is vehicles built in 2002 (in which case your fine), or...

Probably notice specks of dirt stuck to it with time but thats probably it, it's not a shiny film.

It doesn't, it remains as a thin, oily film. Don't worry about the rain, it won't wash it off (what you're applying it to though should preferably be dry when you spray/wipe it on).

"99" Td5's were never fitted with a CAT so he's ok.

Although you've checked the threads on the wastegate, have you checked it actually moves? These can seize up, leading to over boost which the ECU detects and cuts fueling. When I first bought mine, it flew up to 50mph, really struggled to get to 60, and wouldn't go above that for love nor money...

If there's any motorcycle shops near to you, they normally stock it. Save you some postage if you need any in the future.

I think the picture quality is good mate tbh. Don't know why but the sunken lane section always looks more open and less encroaching on video than it does in reality.

If you're worried about it, pick up a can of ACF 50. It will neutralise the rust for 12 months so will stop it getting any worse until the weather picks up and you can spray it.
