    heater not working

Not sure. There are relays in the fuse box in the drivers glove box (not) and some in the fuse box in the engine bay. Dont both fues boxes have details of which each of the relays are on the back of the cover plate? Where is the click comming from? I'm not electrical but won't that be...

    Brake Bleed Nipple

Problem with the Freelander is the nipple is so close to where the brake pipe goes into the cylinder, I couldnt get a socket onto the nipple. My socket for the front nipple loosened it happily, its just getting to the nipple at the back. And lets not start about having to take the wheel off...

    Brake Bleed Nipple

So Im not going mad thinking I'm doing something wrong. Why the hell they didnt fit discs all round when they designed the freelander.................

    Brake Bleed Nipple

Hi guys. Is it an 11mm or 7/16 spanner for the bleed nipples on the brakes? I could use a 7/16 socket on the front bleed nipples but couldnt get a socket onto the rear bleed nipple and couldnt find either an 11mm or 7/16 spanner to release the rear bleed nipple and the nipple is too close...

    egr blanking or not

You can blank off the small pipe that comes off the back of the EGR Valve. People have used discs of tin or two pence peices. Read the sticky thread above. I suspect though that there isnt a huge improvement just blanking the pipe. By fitting a replacement EGR valve that is in effect, just...

Alternatives to the factory fit Sat Nav?

I may be mistaken but I was of the understanding that the DIN or Double DIN standardised the size of the equipment. I think the Becker Uniit is a standard DIN size. Take out the cubby box below and you have Double DIN size. DIN (I think) also relates to the connections at the back. As...

Alternatives to the factory fit Sat Nav?

I'm sure you could create the double DIN size apperture and fit a system with one of these large flip out screens. Lots of them on ebay and supprisingly little cost. How good they are I really dont know, but the Becker unit I have is poor and there is a fault on mine meaning I dont have a...

04 Freelander HSE Auto Centre Console Removal

Hello again guys. I tried last night to remove the centre console from my 04 Freelander Auto and came a bit stuck. Did a search on here and couldnt find anything about removal of the console on the facelift model. I was able to find all the hidden screws and got the console loose but I was...

    Chamfering Brake Pads

Well thanks everybody for your opinions and suggestions. It was a good tip to release the bleed nipple to ease pushing the pistons back. I had never thought of that. Always hated forcing the pistons back against the flow and having to mop up all the brake fluid because the pistons have been...

    Chamfering Brake Pads

Thanks guys, A tub (or tube) of copperslip will be the order of the day. I assume putting new pads on new discs will not be an issue. I have done many disc pad changes over my time but just wondering if there is anything 'special' about the setup on the freelander. I assume since the car...

    Chamfering Brake Pads

Just bought some replacement disks and pads for my 04 TD4. The pads are by Mintex which I think are a decent brand. Discs are drilled and slotted, they look quite sexy (if a brake disk could ever be considered 'sexy') But looking at the pads, they are not chamfered on the leading edge of the...

    Fuel Burning Heater

And very expensive. I looked into a remote for the FBH and it was about £500 (could have been a lot more, I can't remember, I blocked the shock of the price from my mind). Too expensive for me.

    Chipping my TD4

I used a Dremel type tool with a very thin cutting wheel to create a slot so I could use a normal screwdriver bit. Was a bit of a squeeze but it worked for me
