    Quick swivel seal change

My swivel seals are leaking a bit but the swivel balls are OK. Can I replace them by unbolting the swivel from the axle and removing the complete hub with halfshaft entact? After removing the brake caliper etc.

ABS fault code 4 - 14 any ideas?

 V8i disco 1996 I used the "blink method to interrogate the ABS ecu and one of the codes was 4, 14 but this code is not listed. "14" codes all apprear to be related to the front left wheel sensor. Also got a code for brake pedal position, is this a common or intermittent fault...

    PAS and fan belt

The key wears on the pump shaft (it's only a small piece of 3mm dia steel) which then allows the shaft to move forward. This happened to me last year and I shredded the belt but the pump was still working ok and no loss of fluid. Have a spare disco for parts so no cost.

Thanks Guys, I have ordered the bypass plug and will pull out the centre dash on Monday, doesn't take too long to do anyway and I will check the heater cable mounts when Im in there as they have a habbit of fracturing and leaving you with no temperature control.

Disco 1 V8 alarm spider bypass

Does anybody out there know if the plug used to bypass the 300tdi alarm spider is the same part number as a V8? V8 will not turn over!! everything else is ok. I have fitted this plug to my tdi but was wondering if the V8 was different due to it having engine management etc. Also does...

    300 Tdi, _Cold_ Start Issue

Try glow plugging the engine about 3 times before starting to see if that helps. It works for me even though I replaced the glow plugs recently, it can be hard to start just glow pluging it once. You may be down on compression a bit depending on the engine mileage so you need a little more...

    Handbrake keeps going slack...

What you could do is remove the bolt and drill a small hole 3mm dia into the side of the threads at right angles to the bolt centre line. Only drill in say 4mm deep and then insert a piece of nylon plastic or similar (A piece of a BIC pen lid clip would do) into the hole leaving it sitting very...

    roof leak

The only cure is to remove the complete headlining and remove the sunroof trays. Seal up the gaping gaps around the winder handle or electric motor mounting points and seal up all small holes in the pressing. Also seal where the clips hold in the roof blinds. Remove the plastic drain pipe...
