If the fuse is ok, wouldn't it be quicker/easier to start at the horn n work back? U can check the horn is earthing properly too that way.

I reckon you can forget the coil - you got HT if you got that big a spark. Consequently your LT is ok too. Try the earthing the block with a jump lead n see wot happens. Lectricity will always take the easiest route home - not nececelery where you would think it should go. Start with basics and...

You gotta set of jump leads? Earth the block to the body - where it is sparking to cus that is where it is finding an earth. Does it run sweet then? Still got my money on earthing problems............

Thanks for the info guys - dont feel so much of a spare one now. If you plug a 12v system into 24v it will cook, obviously. But maybe the towing system runs off 12v? Get yer multimeter out I reckons............
