It really is just a case of finding similar on Auto trader etc and arriving at a a value thats fair... The insurance company will agree or disagree but be careful the insurance company will tell you if the think.... Its over valued... But wont if under valued they will just accept it and agree...

I'm not surprised it was damaged!... I too used Paddocks but.... They kept sending me damaged goods.... Offside outer wing....dented Pair of rear leaf springs....broken...both! Chrome swivels..... dinged True they did exchange promptly But.... I personally picked the replacement leaf springs up...

You need a lot of current to spot weld Aluminium The spot welder will need to have an inverter Such spot welders are far more expensive than those for welding mild steel. But they give a respectable weld.
