    Strange clutch noise

No, only when in gear and foot off.

    Strange clutch noise

I think I'd best get a good 'delivery' system to make sure I have it at the right levels.

    Strange clutch noise

I've searched loads. Clutch Release bearing was my first thought but isn't that normally when you put your foot on the clutch?

    Strange clutch noise

Hi all, I hope someone can help me work out what's going wrong. In the summer I replaced my old LT77 with a short R380 from Ashcrofts. At the time I replaced the clutch and reinforced fork. The release bearing was also replaced with the shorter version supplied with the gearbox. All seemed...

    suffolk laning?

The only time I've bumped into the MUDHunters they were clearing a green lane blocked by fallen trees.
  6. Kev@kenninghall

Does anyone here go green laning in Norfolk?

Ah, missed all this. I wouldn't have made it anyway as funny noises coming from the clutch area again. Hopefully I'll be back on the road again in a couple of weeks and would be up for joining in any further trips.

Help needed from owners of 90's or 110's

The door trim on my Ninety is held on with small, push in, plastic inserts (round ones). On the trim panel are plastic studs that slot into the back of the panel and push into the inserts in the frame. They are not screwed on mine. I've replaced both the parts in the past from lrseries.com. I...

Becker Sat Nav and Speed wire - is it needed?

Just in case anyone else searches for this in the future I have an answer. Yes it does need the speed signal and the reverse signal, or at least the reverse signal earthing. As soon as I fitted the transducer and put the signal into pin 1 the sat nav sprang into live but insisted on telling me...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Went to see if my leak proofing worked after all the rain last night. It didn't, still more to do. :(

    255/60/18 best place to buy?

Of course, if you'd searched the forum for the word tyres, you'd realise why you got the answer you did from BGB. :)

What do you use your defender for ?

Mine's been used for many things over the last 9 years. I bought it because I wanted one and used the 'I can tow the Scouts tents on a trailer when they go camping' as an excuse. It was originally used for my daily 150 mile round trip commute as well. Then it spent some time as a shed after the...

Becker Sat Nav and Speed wire - is it needed?

It doesn't 'jump'. It doesn't move at all. Trouble is, I need definate "Yes I put this in mine without a speed signal and it worked" rather than a bunch of guess's as to how this unit actually works. "It May work this way or that" doesn't really answer my actual question but thanks anyway...

Becker Sat Nav and Speed wire - is it needed?

OK, to be clear. I know how sat navs CAN work. The instruction suggest, and others have said, that this unit needs the speed signal to work at all but others say it doesn't. This isn't a tomtom or any modern sat nav but an oldish system. I know that the speed signal is used to drive the volume...

Becker Sat Nav and Speed wire - is it needed?

I can but I'd have to buy one first :) There is a standard LR part that just goes into the transfer box but you then lose the cable drive to the speedo. If it's needed I'll do it as I get the advantage of the speed linked volume. However, fitting the transducer means changing the speedo as...

Becker Sat Nav and Speed wire - is it needed?

What are these mystical things? :p Mine's 26 years old and has a wire to turn the injection pump fuel supply on and off, that's about the sum total of 'ECU' I have. Speedo is driven by a spinning cable what breaks occasionally.
  17. Kev@kenninghall

Becker Sat Nav and Speed wire - is it needed?

Tried that. It uses a sensor for reverse as well. There is no such thing on this. It's a bit old :) The volume is an important part of this for me, I have no sound proofing, headlining, or carpets at all so when I'm travelling at 60 I crank it up and when I slow down I deafen myself...

Becker Sat Nav and Speed wire - is it needed?

Hi all I've fitted a Becker Traffic Pro into my Ninety, Model BE4765. It knows where I am, if I get it to display my position it's correct. However, any routes it calculates from somewhere in Kent. If I ask for local points of interest, I get Maidstone. I know that it can use a speed (GAL)...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Fitted a mud console. Now all I need is a radio that doesn't pretend to be a nightclub to fit into it. Only in a defender do you start an interior refinement with an angle grinder :)

What have you done to your Landie today.

Got it stuck :) The angle was steeper than it looks.
