    Nanocom Tool

Ah, see what you mean. Bad grammar on my part. What I meant to say was, will help locally and drive out to someone who maybe has a non runner. Don't want or expect or expect any payment but a can of beer or a bottle of wine would show appreciation for my helpfulness.

    Disco 2 Chattering Main Relay

Hi Yes its R100 It's getting supply but I'm thinking the relay socket or the tracks inside the fusebox are the problem. Are they repairable?

    Nanocom Tool

    Nanocom Tool

Hi, I have a Nanocom set up for the Discovery 2. I'm in the Doncaster area and am happy to diagnose your Disco faults or set up suspension etc. I'm reasonably proficient with the Nanocom already and helping you will help me get better with it. All I ask is that you work around my availability...

    Disco 2 Chattering Main Relay

Hi everyone, Well I'm back in a Discovery 2 again after a 2 year break following my last one being written off by a herd of bullocks on the road. Couldn't bear the thought of going through the process of sorting out all the faults and poor maintenance a replacement. Well I bit the bullet and...

    Clocking

Ha, thanks for that guys. Was thinking I'd been sold a pup. Mood much better now. The answer was way too logical for me. Need to spend more time withe Nanocom I reckon.

    Clocking

Hi all, back again after a 2 year break of Disco ownership after the last one was written off in an RTA. So, just purchased a reasonable 2001 D2 and ran it through my Nanocom. I bought the vehicle with 110,000 miles on the clock, on the Nanocom the BCU and the speedo reading match at 177,000 ...

    TD5 oil leak

I had just the same problem a few months ago. Turned out to be the inlet manifold was loose. This lets the blown air from the turbo (with the oil mist from the engine breather) get blown out of the naïf old past the gasket and run down the engine block and alternator. Tightened the front three...

    Engine Oil Leak

Had a look at RAVE and the oil feed and return to the vacuum pump looks the most likely cause of the leak. Will get under the bonnet again tomorrow and check it out.

    Engine Oil Leak

Will have a look at RAVE. What does the oil feed go to? The alternator or the vacuum pump? As I cannot see a leak from the head to block join this now seems the most likely suspect.

    Engine Oil Leak

Nope, still cannot find the leak. Oil is definately engine oil and leaking down the o/s side of the block from below the inlet manifold. Looks like I shall be taking the manifold off in the new year to investigate.

    Engine Oil Leak

Checked again the camshaft front seal. Not that, pity really cos that would have been an easy fix. Starting to think it may be the inlet manifold gasket after reading some other threads?

    Engine Oil Leak

Thanks for the replies. Have pretty much ruled out the FPR as it almost dry, only really because of a tiny weep from the rocker gasket. The oil leak seems to be on the engine block next to the alternator. I've had another look at I see there is a core plug and another screw in plug on the...

I need help! (with my SRS light)

I'm at South Doncaster and have Nanocom which I believe will reset the srs light. It certainly finds srs faults and clears them. Am free Saturday afternoon. Pm me if that's any help.

    Engine Oil Leak

Need help identifying oil leak location. Engine oil is dripping onto the rear of my alternator from somewhere. There is also oil down the same side of the engine but I cannot find where it might be coming from. The rocker gasket is new and there is no leak from the FP regulator. It seems to be...

    Rear Quarter Light Frame

Thanks for the advice but I've discovered that LR still supply the part so my local guy at DCV ordered one for £24, expensive for what it is but will save time making one up. Seems that LR no longer supply the rubber to fit the channel but a piece of inner tube will do the job. Hope this helps...

    Rear Quarter Light Frame

Hi Does anyone know of a supplier for the bottom bolt on channel for the rear side doors quarter light frame for the D2? Mine have completely rotted away and need urgent replacement. I have tracked some threads of the subject and one post suggested repair channels were available on EBay but I...

    Front door lock actuator

Hi all, Have recently fitted a new front nearside door lock actuator only to have the intermittent fault of the inside door handle not always opening the door. The fault is the same if the ignition is off or on and the first pull of the handle releases the central locking if the ignition is...

What is the best way to top up diff & gearbox oils ?

As someone else has suggested. A clean length of hose into the gearbox/dif with a funnel or container on the other end with your oil in it. Keep an eye on it when it starts to drip from the box pull out hose and block with thumb. If you use an oil bottle like in photo the glug factor slows down...
