We did it!! YES!!! Stuck it in reverse, then got a big ass torque wrench on it with a prybar jammed in the damper.. A bit unconventional but it was done in less than 5 mins.. :D Thanks alot for advice guys :D

thanks very much guys, got some guys with a big ass breaker bar to come help me tighten it in the mornin, gonna try the 4th gear brakes on option. I mean that should give some hefty torque and you guys have alot more exp than me... So ill do this and let you know how it went tommorow...

I would do that matey but i think thats what the last guy did as i had to replace the pulley and bolt and oil seal due to the bolt coming loose.. So im loathe to go down that route :( thanks for the fast reply though..

Hi there, Ive tried every local garage to no avail :doh: no-one has a torque wrench that go's to 460nm or even a multiplier :mad: You see, I'm trying to do up the crankshaft pulley bolt on my 1999 TD5 disco 2.. Im in port talbot, south wales.. Anyone have any ideas please?:5bangelsad2:

its got a timing chain that u cant see unless ya take off the rocker cover.. unless im wrong?

Hi there, I want to check to see if the cowboy who did my mothers car set the timing right before i start the engine after my crank pulley replacement.. The question is, the car has only done 50 miles since the last gasket was fitted... Do i really have to spend 20 quid on another one...

best way to fill is to take out the resovoir, hold it a couple feet above the bonnet, undo the bleed valve on the top hose but leave the top hose connected, fill up till you get a stead flow of coolentcoming out the bleeder valve, fill resovoir then to the cold water mark.. do up bleed valve...

decatting you need to though right?

you have got coolent in it right?

dont you need to do something to the ecu when you do that? because of the sensors?
