Parts Bin Clutch upgrade for 200Tdi

Right then Update time. I went with an AP driveline clutch kit after looking at the britpart HD one and comparing the two The AP one looked and felt much better quality so despite being £25 more I went for that. The springs in the centre looked thicker the friction surface looked more even...

Parts Bin Clutch upgrade for 200Tdi

Well mines coming upto 180k so i'm guessing that'll be the second clutch so they cant be too bad I suppose. I just like the idea of making something better when the opportunity arises. Maybe your right it would be better to keep it simple (stupid) and fit another O.E one.

Parts Bin Clutch upgrade for 200Tdi

Has anyone used a heavy duty type 110 clutch in a Discovery (200 Tdi with LT77). I was wondering weather it would fit and be a worthwhile 'upgrade' or not. I'll be doing the clutch arm mod whilst the box is out just wonderin about the clutch opinions and advise please.....

That looks like a good piece of kit. Where can I get one of those? Just used me new Britpart box spanner to try to get my rear hub nuts off no joy - Cold chisel got the bugger though. Good job I got a few spares when I got the spanner this morning :) BTW the holes for a tommy bar in the...

Another example the calliper bolts were a 13mm splined head not a regular hex head luckily I had a 13mm 12-point ring spanner that fitted, but a reglar socket wouldn't touch it.

Right I just got half way through changing me rear brake discs when I realised I'd need a bloody huge great hub socket. It never mentioned it in the Haynes manual, so I never gave it a thought. So now I know I'll need one to get the job done I was wondering if theres any other special...

    Brakes : Rebuild or Replace?

Thanks for the comments I've ordered a replacement Caliper, a Front discs pad kit and a rear disc pad kit. Hopefully that should get me moving again, will consider the stainless steel piston upgrade at a later date. Bleediing brakes is gonna be fun :(

    Brakes : Rebuild or Replace?

Discs all round look pretty dodgy so I think I'll be doing them anyway. The one in question is definatly blued. Could the heat build up of damaged the caliper?
