To name or not to name?....

Mine has had several names, "the disco", "Discoteque" and "Blue Midget" after the little space ship from Red Dwarf. My two previous cars, A red Mk3 VW Polo was "Red Dwarf" and and my green Mk3 Golf was "starbug"

The Story so far, My snotbag disco...

I've got my headlining out and it didn't make much difference to road noise but it gets a LOT colder and you get a f#ck load of condensation when it's cold too.

Some pics of my Disco :D

Oh im just as keen on stuff being shiny. If it starts off clean it makes it more fun to get it muddy!! Im exactly the same with my mountain bikes.

    Safari or Southdown snorkel?

I have a safari one that has taken a beating and still looks fine BUT if I was looking for one now id go with south down and do one on each side and run extended axle and gearbox breathers into the dummy one

Some pics of my Disco :D

love the attention to detail this disco gets. The axles are pure landy porn. I have literally just started drilling out spotwelds on mine so I can replace the front inner wings and rotten footwells this week. Its gonna be a long job with a lot of learning as I go along because I have only done a...

hi im new to the forum just want to know your thought on 300tdi in a d2 body

If it was me. Id find a D2 with a knackered engine and just stick the 300tdi in there. Sounds much easier and gives you the looks and better suspension set up of the D2 with the simple engine of the 300tdi.

hi im new to the forum just want to know your thought on 300tdi in a d2 body

That's a conversion id love to do myself if i had the money/skills required. I love the slightly smoother lines of the TD5 body but i love the simplicity of the 300tdi engine. I remember the article from LRO, wasn't it an imported V8 with a cracked block?

    Defender 300 TDi Project!

It's more than possible to get a very good finish with a roller. Look for the Rugged Guide videos on the method before you commit to wrapping it. IF you roller it yourself, it's easy to touch up if you scratch it but the wrap material will bunch up and tear if you scratch that. Other than that...

    Not your normal 200 tdi

That's about the 4th time that has been advertised..... I wonder why it won't sell....??? :5bpuke:

    Spare wheel mounting

+1 for bonnet mounted. Looks brilliant and doesn't take up space or put strain on anything other than a bonnet stay when its open.

Modulars and Flexi Arches - getting there....

What size are those BFG's stu?

Some pics of my Disco :D

I love the clean up bit, I'm just **** at putting bits back together again.

    discovery rear light cluster aaaarrrrrrrrrggghhh

mine has no interior trim other than seats and dash board so its a bit easier in mine although still a pain in the arse.

    T-Cut: Aye or Nae

If you want to keep it shiny then meguires cutting compound and clay bar kit will get light scratches out but you are getting into the realms of the detailing world then and that should only be whispered about on this forum haha

    Overfinch D1 anyone?

I love the range rover but that disco is quite special too. Not £16.5k special IMO but its stunning. That's just been featured in LRM with a good write up. Somebody in another forum found a tatty example and ripped the guts out to put into a 90 last year. Thought that was a shame.

    Truck cab roof rack

Do you sell on eBay Stu? Wondered if there is any way of seeing your handy work? In the not too distant future I'm gonna be in the market for a rear disco bumper and a roof rack as well.

300tdi bit of a build up..

+1 although hate is a strong word.... more like insanely jealous haha
  18. godzilla84

    front seats what will fit

im tempted by set of Civic Type R seats for my disco which I know Mr Noisy can appreciate. But the danger is if I found a set of type R seats they would end up in my Accord Tourer instead.

    auf_wiedersehen_pet's build thread.

Christ on a bicycle!! That's erm, distinctive. I like it..

    internal snokel?

I quite like the sound of a "sleeper" off road toy with air lockers and hidden winches and stuff like that. Partly cos it would draw less attention from thieving pikey scumbags but mainly cos I like the sleeper concept in general, not just on land rovers.
