    Dash pod

Hi All Can anyone confirm if the FL1 Face-Lift dash Pod(2004 onwards) fits a Pre Face lift? (2002) May have to change the Steering Column shroud, but otherwise looks the same? More to do with the electrical connections........... Dials look brighter and easier to read? :cool...

    3 Door Overhead Slot?

Hi All On my FL1 3 Door there is a Overhead Console Pocket/Slot/Storage unit, open ended, with a small slot underneath which looks like it should have a light in it or a clip/catch to hold something in? inside there are some velcro pads? Any idea what it is intended for, or if there were any...

    Remap, Ronbox or both

Hi all, thought I would share my experience with my TD4 Manual. 3 door. TDI-Tuning.co.uk Tuning Box, EGR Bypass, Silicon Hoses, Decat, Low Profile Exhaust tail box, BMW Cyclone filter, Piper Cross Air filter. Radical improvement in 0-60, was about 13.5 standard, tested on a dry flat road and...

    Another TD4 issue.

Hi all, had exactly the same, turned out to be a broken alternator bracket. Common apparently, once fixed it purred? May not be related to your problem but worth a look, as was Amazed when they told what it was as I would never have looked at it?

    3 Door Fronts Seats

Hi All Looking to get more comfortable seats for my MY 02, Freelander TD4 3 Door. Rest of the motor is great nick mechanically & body wise so seems silly selling it for the sake of more comfortable seats? The ones in there are in good nick, but I have a 'dodgy back with 2 damaged Discs' and...

15 inch wheels with bigger tyres pic request

Same as.... Kumho Kl71 215/80 R15's about 1"Taller (ground clearance from wheel to hub centre 18") Great off road, smoother ride, but a bit too much roll in corners, crachy load speed ride if pressures too high, and road speed grip isn't as good as my other set especially in the wet (Summer)...

new to Freelanders and trying to change a few minds about them.

Hi all..... Apologies for the late post, but it was of interest particularly when talking about MPG. As well as overall use, especially after the comments about coming from a Series to a Freelander! ;) A ‘good’ Freelander is much better than many give it credit for, Ok they don’t have Low...

td4 excessive black smoke and rasp @ 2250rpm

Hi All I had exactly the same on my 2002 TD4 3 door, so struck a chord with me. Clouds of Black smoke about 1800-2000 rpm or dependent on throttle position. On light throttle it was less, but squeeze it too hard in a low gear - same result? Clouds of Black Stuff! Did some research and...

    16, 17 from 15"

Hi GG Just seemed logical to me as we run what is basically a 4WD Van? Some off-road, mainly road going with a trailer, top road handling isn't high on my priority list as it is with our Peugeot 407 which is a Motorway eater with superb handling and ride! but useless off-road, doesn't have a tow...

    16, 17 from 15"

Hi All Thanks for the feedback. Picked up a nice clean set of 4 'Freelander 16" Alloys' from a 2001 so will fit mine no problem. Big + for me is that 215/65 r16's seem to be cheaper than the 15" AT's? Even bog standard load rated van tyres can be had for £200 a set (or less + fitting)...

    16, 17 from 15"

Hi All Looking at getting a set of 16" Alloys to replace my 15" Adventurer Alloys with Kumho AT Tyres which are very noisy  Don't do a lot of off-roading, mainly road use towing, odd bit of greenlaning & bad weather Have heard a lot about the pro's 'n' cons but believe that 16"...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Hi All EGR Bypass fitted with DPH Silicon Hoses (All 3) Non Sensor Model.... Nice Bright Blue :high5: Big improvement, although to early to tell for sure but definitely better low down grunt, revs easier right up to 4,000rpm, breathes better! I suspect better MPG, but again too early to...

    Rumblings down below!

Cheers Bandit - top advice! :smokin: Sure it isn't anything too serious, I don't get any IRD/VCU/Rear Diff Symptoms, leaning towards from Prop CV Joint? ;)

    Rumblings down below!

Hi GrumpyGel Doesn't matter if moving or not, only noticeable from idle to about 1,200rpm. Doesn't make any difference if in or out of gear. Yes, when I push the lever left or right it stops.... Returning when I next idle. Think it must be the linkage, will investigate and report back. Cheers :p

    Love my Freelander!

Sounds like a similar story to mine (02 TD4 3 Door) Pepignan and back in June, no issue sat all wth a 250kg Trailer and Camping Gear :D Next May, doing Belgium/Germany/over Dolomites into Italy 3 days lake Garda, then across to South West France for a big chill by the beach

What have you done to your Freelander today

Replaced ALL Turbo Hoses with DPH Blue Silicon :D (couldn't do RED or GREEN) + EGR Bypass - now I think I am getting back near to the 136bhp I should have (TDI Tuning Box Fitted) Huge difference, pulls smoothly from 1500rpm up to 4,000rpm. (economy to be advised ) :D
