Looks like this chap had the same problem as me then! - He bought a complete column then sold the motors off the old one to recoup some money - guess what I am doing then

Hummm.. No outstanding recall work found!! I'm gonna fix it myself.. A nut threaded on with a washer will do the trick (until the other side of the horseshoe bracket snaps then I'm chuffed)
As you can see the tilt nut sits in between a horseshoe shaped piece of moulded alloy. The moulded alloy is a single piece which appears to be part of the steering assembly. One half of the horseshoe has snapped cleanly off!! Anyone else experienced this?
Done it. There is a spindle that has a brass block threaded on it with a lug at each side. The lugs fit between a U-shaped bracket that looks as if its part of the steering column. One if the arms of the offending U bracket had sheared off leaving only half a U if you see what i mean So what I...

Yeah. It's not mine it's a mate. He bought it cheap £4860 so had an inkling something was a miss... Still if it costs him £2k it still stands him at market value and he has peace of mind its done.

Yeah saw some one eBay selling them about £3k inc fitting so no too bad.
The front grill I have looks ok when you push the wipers down and pull the fuse out :-)
