    Wiring in additional boot light

I'm thinking of buying a 12V mini strip light to wire into the boot area - the standard light on the right hand side is feeble and a brighter light would be much handier in the winter. Would it be a simple matter of adding new wiring onto the existing interior light, or would it need a new...

    2 stroke oil in diesel

Can't say i've noticed any difference with mine, as yet. Mind you, I didn't notice much difference with the EGR bypass. I wonder how much of these 'tweaks' only make a psychological difference? (benefits are hard to measure objectively). I'll give it time though, only had it in for a few days...

    Synergy 2 vs ECU Remap

I didn't notice any fuel economy improvement with my synergy 2 - the temptation is just there to use the power, which is there in good supply.....though mines smoked a lot when wired up to the Synergy and you booted it. For good economy, keep it standard, well tuned/serviced and go easy on...

    All Terrain Tyres

I also use 215/80/15 AT tyres (Toyo 785s)

Best guess re source of noise

I've got exactly the same noise. One garage thought it might be a wheel bearing, but there was no real play in the wheel......another garage could not give any idea. Still in the dark.

    Which AT tyres?

On those very same 6 spoke alloys, I have Toyo 785 ATs in 215/80/15. I think these are the biggest size you will get away with on the 15" wheels. Great in snow, off road and on road. Some useful clearance too (nearly an inch extra).

Anyone got a set of 20 alloy wheel nuts that they'd be willing to sell/post to Scotland? ta.

    Inlet manifold removal - TD4

Thanks folks. Quite easy to remove, but a pain the arse to clean. 4 cans of Mr Muscle oven cleaner later and I think the jobs a good un. Bottle brush helps.

    Inlet manifold removal - TD4

Tried searching the forums but couldn't find any specific posts on this - I want to remove and clean the inlet manifold. Is this relatively straightforward and quick to remove? I've replaced the crankcase breather and have fitted an EGR bypass, just want to complete the picture. Thanks.

    updated crankcase breather

Finally got around to fitting the uprated breather assembly. Got to say, no noticeable difference to driveability/performance, but I didn't expect one. At least it is now maintenance free. Just need to get the inlet manifold etc cleaned up.

    15" 6 spoke alloys wanted

Anyone got a set of the 15" 6-spoke alloys in good nick, they want rid of? Tyres unimportant, just the rims would do - for an 03 tD4. ta.

    TD4 injector pump leak ???

Same seasonal leak for me - in winter, under engine diesel leak and smelly diesel cabin when sitting in traffic. No leak or smell in summer. Need to check out the pump seal and unions I suppose. Can these be viewed under the bonnet or is it a case of sumpguard off and jacked up?

Pic/location of diesel high pressure pump TD4

Cheers, I will check the pump out.

    What tyres do you use?

Toyo all terrains in 215/80/15 mounted on the steel rims. Good off-road/snow and decent enough on-road. A bit extra lift with the 80 profile.

Pic/location of diesel high pressure pump TD4

I have a diesel leak which only occurs during winter (it happened last year too). I suspect possibly the seal on the high pressure pump, as this is a known symptom......trouble is, not sure exactly where it is located - can anyone point me in the right direction? many thanks.

    Diesel leak - winter only

Last year I had leaking diesel but it disappeared by spring/summer. Now I have the smell in the cabin again and the characteristic diesel on the underside of the undertray etc. I know the answer is to get the tray off and get underneath, not an option just yet - are there any types of leak...
