Hahaha! Thanks for the answers. It does look like there should be something like a mounting in between the chassis and gearbox but it's never been used. Don't think anything dropped off (perhaps they forgot to put it in at the factory? Or I guess jamesmartin is right and it's just obsolete. No...

I have a new (April '11) Defender 110. Does anyone know why there is a bolt missing under the gearbox, between the gearbox and the chassis? The hole in the gearbox it tapped and the chassis has a hole the right size, ready for a bolt :confused: Is is because the gearbox (MT-82) was changed and...

It sort of feels at though it's coming through the drive train - I fitted a front diff guard (off to Iceland in a few months :o) and that moved the steering rod guard a bit on the mount. So I suppose it could be knocking. I will remove it and see if anything changes. Cheers, Matt
