No problem mate. The pump is located in the drivers side rear wheel arch, wheel and plastic liner will have to come off. A bitch to do apparently, luckily mine was done under warranty. They did fit a cheap one and it is really noisy, genuine ones aren't cheap though...Mine had exactly the same...

Sorry mate you're correct. The PTC has one box, the first box for the heated screen clipped on to it, the other box didn't hence cable tie! One has 3 fuses and the other has a relay. On the loom is a thick +ve cable with ring on the end, there is enough room on the +ve post on the battery to fit...

I answered this on your other thread mate. It is almost certainly the low pressure fuel pump.

Sounds like the low pressure fuel pump is on it's way out. This lives behind the rear drivers side wheel arch. Mine did exactly the same as you describe. If you can, go for a genuine part as the aftermarket one I have is very noisy.

Bg freelander: My car has the PTC heater, I didn't have to make any changes to this as the heated screen loom is completely separate. I did have concerns whether the alternator would be overloaded with the PTC heater and heated screen on but can report no issues, even with lights on as well...

My 2006 TD4 commercial is now on 226000 miles but hasn't been used for 6 months. Considering selling it due to lack of use.

Just get a replacement second hand unit, will be quicker and cheaper than trying to get yours repaired.

Thanks for the concern, I'm fine wasn't in my van when it got hit, it seems TNT drivers don't know what mirrors are for. The FL is in the garage and is covered under warranty so will be sorted soon, gonna make the most of this warranty before it runs out ;)

Just a quick update. For all you doubters out there my Freelander has lived up to its reputation and has let me down. Broke down on the M62 and got recovered to the garage, seems the fuel pump has killed itself :rolleyes: To top it off a TNT driver in an 18 ton wagon to a disliking to my van...
