Another eBay Defender that doesn't look right...

Yes, it is, but it's presented as a classified listing, so that's the price the vehicle is offered at as there's no auction on the item.

You can also see a reflection of a man in one of the photos. I asked if I could speak with him to discuss the car, but received more evasive answers in response. At least last time it was not SO ridiculously cheap. If I could have that car for 4K I'd be pretty pleased with myself!

Not yet, but I did last time.

Another eBay Defender that doesn't look right...

Morning, All. Just a heads up on item number 262851648191. I enquired about this vehicle back in the summer and was told it would be shipped to me on release of funds, sent to the seller through PayPal. I walked away, especially as the seller would only converse via email and was vague about...

    Defender rear lights issues

I had fun and games when I fitted new front side lights and indicators, despite wiring everything up correctly. It turned out to be duff female Lucas connectors which, when replaced, solved the issue.

    timing belt noise 200tdi

Is your water pump on the way out? I had a noise in that area and it was a matter of days before the water pump gave way.

Wanted County Window Surrounds for a 90

Evening, All. I'm after the plastic interior window surrounds that were fitted in CSWs as standard, in order to finish off my interior. I need both the side windows and the small rear ones either side of the back door. What's out there? Many thanks, Dom

    90 project

I'd love to subject my 90 to something like this, but as I use it as a daily driver and would have to pay full whack, it may remain a dream. Good luck and keep us posted.

    MOT test tomorrow !

You'll be fine, as long as the chassis is solid... Ask me how I know.

Rebirth of an ex-Mod 110 defended FFR

This sounds like a great project. I shall follow the thread with interest. I can't comment on the 300 Tdi engine, but I have a 200 Tdi, which I find excellent. Good luck!

    Daily Commute

I use my 1993 90 200 Tdi as a daily driver. So far, so good. Fuel economy isn't great, but I enjoy driving it so much that it's a price I'm willing to pay!

    300tdi Doors

I'm in the same boat. YRM do repair sections that have a good reputation if you want to repair existing doors.I have picked up a couple of doors cheaply on eBay, so that I can get them where I want, then swap them on to the bus as I use the vehicle for work. The only issue with this is getting...

    Diff drive flange

I don't think the flange does move as you describe. I was hoping for an easy fix, but I suppose it's more likely to be the other things you mention.

    Diff drive flange

There is play in the front diff. I have replaced front prop, front drive members and TB input shaft. There is no play in the rear half of the drive system, so I'm targeting the front! I know half shafts could be worn, as could the CV joints, as could the diff itself. I'm trying to eliminate...

    Diff drive flange

Thank you. Maybe I'm using the wrong terminology, but I mean the part between the prop and the diff casing held on by a single nut. This part: https://iapunitedkingdom.com/catalog/product/view/id/191968

    Diff drive flange

Evening, All. In my quest to minimise transmission backlash it has occurred to me to explore the front diff (yes, I know it's a final drive really) output flange. I know these are splined and easy enough to remove, but wondered how much they are likely to wear. It may be worth a punt...

    Ebay 300tdi 90 34k miles 1998.

It's a pity. I bought my 90 on eBay from a very reliable seller and got a good deal. What you describe, Midge28, is very similar to what I experienced.

Please help me diagnose this noise.

Right. Just got back in. As I expected, the clack is still there if I lift off the accelerator sharply. As I've now replaced both props, the A frame ballpoint and wishbone bushes, the front drive members and the TB input gear, I'm wondering if the front diff is worn, or the front half shafts...

Please help me diagnose this noise.

Both props are now on. I fitted the rear one first. The car definitely drove better as a consequence, but the clack was still evident. I've just finished fitting the front prop and am about to head off to work. Fingers crossed the noise has gone, but I feel it may not have as there is play...
