When putting on the coupling are you putting the bolts in the right order. 3 pointing forwards and 3 backwards. If the bolts are not on correctly it can cause the doughnut to bend and stress it.

Where are the rubber bungs on the thermostat. My thermostat is housed inside a white plastic housing. I have one bleed hole on the pipe that goes from the block to the rad. And have bled the system properly by opening this and raising the header tank while topping up the system. Coolant is...

Still no wiser to finding out what this noise is. Its only when i start the car and drive it until it gets up to temperature and is linked to when i accelerate. When i pop the bonnet the coolant header tank looks empty, and if i screw off the lid alot of air is released and the tank fills back...

Can anybody point me to a guide for wiring an abs sensor directly into the ecu? Apparently with the new ones they are to be wired straight in and not to the connector under the bonnet. Some day i might get rid of my 3 amigos :doh::doh::doh:

Im taking a gamble with a new sensor. If it gets grinded again ill have to go new hub with a sensor already fitted. Either way goodbye £$€£$€

Ok gonna buy a sensor, was speaking to the guy in landrover and he said measure the two and if needed put a paper gasket in so the teeth dont grind my new £100 sensor. If that happens again i presume its a new hub.... and another sensor?

Have the pink stuff form halfords in my disco 2 td5 and have had no problems.

Is there any online guides (with pictures) to do a head gasket replacement. Hardest part would be taking off the exhaust manifold and trying no to shear any bolts. Have the rave cd but pictures would help.

Cool. Ill have a look. Thought it was further in the hub for some reason. If it was just a simple problem of the sensor not sitting right and I was to re position it. Would the 3 amigos go off on the turn of the key or would i need to get them reset using a diagnostic tool?

Back when ASDA were doing it for 72p a litre i stocked up. The loose bottles were form the shelves, and the boxes from the store room. Staff had no problem with me taking all the oil out of 2 stores! Got some strange looks tho. There was some weight in all that oil.

Actually come to think of it last week i drove through a flood too fast and some water got sucked into the air intake. The engine lost power for about a minute and a load of steam came out the exhaust. Could this have something to do with it? And what sort of damage could i have done?

Lets say im decellerating and in third gear. If i shift down into second the gear changes but then i get a grinding sound and though the gear is only half engaged. Happens in reverse aswell. If i am reversing all going well then i press in the clutch to freewheel i get that "in between gears...

Ok today i jacked up the front of the disco and put it into first gear. Expecting it to drive off the axel stands..... it didnt. The front wheels spun with nothing moving at the back. Is this really down to the three amigos being on or have i bigger problems??
