Seen 3 or 4 cambelts snapped due to bump, or tow starting. Also snapped one myself after hitting a snow drift!

We think we may have found the cause of my vibration. The lower engine mount at the back of the engine has about 10mm play when pulling the engine about by hand. Also the mount by the battery has slight play in it too. New ones will be ordered on tuesday (where's the best place to order these...

Can't help with the starting problem but i would say not to bump start a motor with a cambelt. A bump start puts a hell of a strain on the belt and isn't the "gentle" geared start of a starter motor. Better to find teh fault than risk that, IMHO.

Yup, very easy job, On a ramp probably only take you 15 minutes. You need to support it as the complete assembly is fairly heavy and you wouldn't want that weight hanging off of one of the UJs, if you see what i mean. I undid each end and then the centre mount and lowered it down on a jack...
