I've got detachable steering wheel, alarm with 2 immobilisers, and a kill switch,and I'm still paranoid about it getting stolen,if they want it they'll have it, all you can do is slow them down.

Personally I would just check/add earth's first,and go from there.

If it helps, I put an earth strap from engine mounting bracket (on the near side) and fastened it to the engine near the alternator,i was having similar problems, the more I had to put my foot down to get up a slight hill the higher the gauge went,been out for a run today and so far so...

Just a quick update,I've sorted my problem,i added a earth strap from chassis to the engine, and cleaned up my earth points, and jobs a goodn, thanks for the help much appreciated.

Cheers for that I'll check it as soon as I finish work, and that explains why it doesn't do it with no thermostat.

Just to add the 200tdi was put in by liveridge in 2010 a couple of years before I bought it.

Thanks for the replys, I'm pretty sure it's got the correct sender in it as I ran it for about 3 months before I stripped it and it never had the problem but I suppose with it being stood for a while the sender could be faulty? I meant that when it ran without a thermostat and the temperature...

Hi,i've been rebuilding my land rover 90 for the best part of 2 years,on my first proper run out after about 3 miles down the road i noticed my temperature gauge going up when i put my foot down,it wasnt long before it was in the black on its way up to red,so i pulled over and the gauge started...

I used pclips and pop rivets to fasten my loom on,hopefully won't fall off :)

Sorry to sound stupid but why have you got to drain the coolant and remove viscose fan?

errrrrr no,i stupidly thought the gasket would take care of that,what a plonker

when you say reseal ,do you mean with rtv?

Forget to mention after i noticed it i drained some of the oil out and ran it for 5-10 mins and no oil was dripping which is weird because when i took it out the tent it was running for 2mins tops and i got a 50pence piece size oil leak,but the gasket is still very wet with oil and dont know...

Hi,ive been rebuilding my land rover 90 for the last 18months,its my first project and sort of been learning as i go,anyway im getting to the point where i can see light at the end of the tunnel,until today,i pulled it out of my pop up garage:)to paint the wings and bonnet in there,all went well...

Sorted, I took the slave cylinder out,and piston inside was about half way down, so popped it back up stuck it back in, bled it job done, Thanks for the suggestions

I'm using a oil can and a piece of clear hose, like I said I've got fluid through now and got a pedal but still won't go into gear, what else other than the master cylinder pushrod setting be causing me the problem
