Hi,ive been rebuilding my land rover 90 for the last 18months,its my first project and sort of been learning as i go,anyway im getting to the point where i can see light at the end of the tunnel, until today,i pulled it out of my pop up garage
to paint the wings and bonnet in there, all went well with the painting side but i was just checking round it and noticed a small amount of oil underneath
i had a crawl under it and the oil is coming from the gasket [ER1440]between the bellhousing and engine.
I put a new clutch in and replaced the rear crank oil seal along with the gasket in question, but i never put any rtv sealant on as well, and now im starting to think i should of done.or is something else causing me problems like the rear seal itself ,or could it be that i put slightly to much oil in the engine although its not been running for long periods of time but was wondering wether it could of built the oil pressure up and push the oil out of places it shouldnt,
Sorry if i sound abit clueless but ive never done anything like this before, and i didnt want to have to take the gearbox or engine out if i dont really have to thanks
