If you've got a diesel compression tester then go for it - otherwise take it to a garage as they're mega money and not the same as a petrol one! Hang around while they do it and check the state of the glow plugs as thats usually where they connect

I would cut your losses and weigh it in, it would be entering a very grey area, unless someone is desperate and you could cut the various bits off to be used as 'repair sections'

300tdi manifold is the easy answer! The 200tdi turbo should also fit into it, just remember the extended oil pipes as well

Aye that sounds right, it says in the regs somewhere that if a second hand chassis is used, it needs an SVA test and a Q plate anyway....so you can;t even cut the plate out and tell the next person to weld their own in

Not entirely sure how a disco is wired up, but generally speaking with car electrics, if the heater blower resistor goes faulty or gets disconnected, you only get the blower working at full whack, as the resistor is only switched in on the lower positions to drop the volts

Trailer test isn't that easy you know! I went on a 2-day course at MIRA (paid for by work) and even they said that wasn't enough to pass your test - you'd need much more practice It's a full on driving test all over again, with a trailer on the back, plus the trailer manoeuvres...I haven't yet...
