I seem to have lost power to my heter fan and the lights which illuminate behind the heater area on the disco. If i turn the temp to full, you get warm air trickling through, equally if you turn it to cold you get coldish air trickling through, so, that part is all fine, it's just the fan / motor / electrical part which is dead.

I've checked the fuses in the cabin, although not in the engine bay yet. All are fine.

We did have the dash all out a few months ago to change the heater matrix, although, everything was working fine after we put it back together - I guess a connector may have become detatched at some point?

Any other common issues i should be aware of?

Oh dear you may have trapped a wire when you put dash back, you know what this means.

possibly, although it worked for a while and I would expect a trapped wire would short and blow a fuse... which it hasn't.

Basher79 - which resistor???

The resistor on the side of the heater box, you may have had a lose connector that has now become detatched. If you have a 300 series then you can get to the motor to check for voltage.
The heater display is just a single bulb that may have blown.

Not entirely sure how a disco is wired up, but generally speaking with car electrics, if the heater blower resistor goes faulty or gets disconnected, you only get the blower working at full whack, as the resistor is only switched in on the lower positions to drop the volts
