no, the diff end should be 10 spline. diff's from 200tdi disco's also fit and there's usually loads of them in bits at the scrappers!!

i take the batteries out of all my none road worthy vehicles, mostly to prevent family members from pinching them but also to stop them going flat through leaky switches! :rolleyes: also make sure you leave plenty of food in the cab for the spider population that will appear! :D

i'd second the hazard switch being at fault, i found all switch contacts had corroded on one of my series 3's. it worked again once i took the switch apart and cleaned it all up.

you'd be on the phone to paddocks surely!! :D i'd second jonteewilly's method, applying a light wallop with a mallet always helps too!!

i have 2a wheel in my series 3 that i'm still building up, it has the single bolt attaching it to the steering column just like the series 3 ones. i've had a mountney wheel and a rover car wheel on it which all went on no bother. the only difference with the 2a wheel is that it has a collar...

i painted my v6 manifold after a spate of OCD fuelled madness! i just prep'ed them as you would anything else, wire brushed all the ****e off, washed them in de-greaser, washed that off and then sprayed them with some high temp paint. the paint has some special instructions on them so for once...

i had the combined inlet and exhaust gasket on my 1981 petrol series but jointing compound would probably do a good enough job. *** mi perkins injun'd series has nay gaskets on the eggsauce, 'sall gasket glue and beer cans huddin it the gether and it leaks less than the old welderd one!! ***...

sounds like you've got a bit of a problem there, it should be reasonably easy to change gear if everything is working right and its shouldnt involve crunching!! i'd have a look at the clutch oil and change the gearbox oil, have a look for any gearbox bits in the oil!!
