I suspected the indicator stalk on mine, but now, the radio goes off if i hit a pothole etc. Looking like a dodgy earth or connection. Also when i used the windscreen washer stalk, the radio goes off also. Something else i have noticed is when i use the indicators, the radio display dims.

The reversing switch may need cleaning or adjustment, or poss replacement. The rear door is the small spring inside the latch. Get the spring off ebay. I have side steps on mine, Don't bother with them if you plan on going off road. Good luck with you new motor!!

Don't know about in the NE, but K motors in lancashire do a 300 tdi short block for 995 exchange, or a stripped one for 1595 exchange.

The mileage is on the high side, i would be tempted to try and get a bit more off, but a least it has the lpg done, that save you a lot. Must say i know a few people manual gearboxes who haven't had any probs. But auto and V8 go better.

Might be worth taking the intercooler off and flushing it with paraffin or something. It made a real difference to mine.

if it opens from the outside it can't be the springs. You might need to look inside the door, there could be a loose rod or connection. If the spring has gone (i had to do all mine!), you will see the button drops slightly, if you pull the button up it should open, but this would be the case...

Check it's service history (a must for these), Make sure it has had the correct amount of oil changes etc. The auto boxes can be troublesome on these cars. Make sure all the electrics work, does it have sunroofs, do they leak? I assume the dealer is giving some sort of warranty with the vehicle...

Now you've done that, give the inter cooler a clean out with petrol, see how much **** comes out. Very easy to remove and you will notice the difference when it's done. Make sure the inter cooler is totally dried out before refitting.

I did this ona 300tdi a few moths ago, I just unbolted the egr, used the gasket as a template and made my own and slipped it between the egr and manifold. Job done. Give the intercooler a good clean aswell, it will be full of ****, and that's when you'll notice the difference.
