I suppose that its possible, but I've see the crank and it looks so perfect. Personal Id bodge it so it works, even tack the pulley it to the nut after and for get about it, as not much to lose really cause to do a proper fix it needs a new crank.

Its defiantly coming from beneath the rocker cover, and its probably over due a cam its done 130,000. I'll run it until I get all the parts together, then spend a couple of days doing it! Does anybody have a list of parts I'm going to require because I'm going to do from the cam up

It sounds daft but mine went though a stage of this and it turned out to be the plug on the fuel pump. It wasn't quite pushed on all the way. You can check by listening to see if it kicks in when the ignition is switched on, or the valve on the fuel rail to see if there's any in there. I know it...
